Students blocking institutions of higher education across Serbia announced that today, they will mark 11 months since the collapse of the canopy at the Novi Sad Railway Station—a tragedy in which 16 people lost their lives—with a series of commemorative gatherings and walks.

The central gatherings will be held in Novi Sad, Belgrade, Niš, and Kragujevac, with the aim of paying respects to the victims in silence and with dignity.

In Belgrade, the commemorative walk will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a gathering at the “Belgrade – Center” Railway Station (Prokop). From there, the procession will move across the Mostar Loop and the Gazela Bridge to the Novi Beograd Railway Station. Organizers appealed to participants to refrain from using whistles and for the gathering to proceed peacefully, in accordance with its commemorative nature.

“We will mark this sad day with dignity and in silence with a commemorative walk from the Campus to the Railway Station,” the students stated.
