U.S. President Donald Trump stated that his administration is working to reach a fair agreement with Iran.
Trump emphasized that relations between Washington and Tehran are functioning well.
He also sharply criticized the Senate following the passage of a War Powers Resolution concerning Iran, arguing that the vote came at a “bad time” and weakened Washington’s position in its dealings with Tehran.
Trump said that Iran had been prepared to make concessions and was showing respect toward the United States and the American president for the first time in decades.

“Iran is on the ropes, ready to fall, ready to give us practically everything, for the first time in decades, respecting the United States and its president, me, and the U.S. Senate decides to vote on the War Powers Act at the worst possible time and for no reason, telling the world’s number one sponsor of terror that the United States does not like what I am doing to them and that I have to stop, thereby giving aid and comfort to the enemy,” Trump said.
He argued that the adoption of the resolution sent a signal to Iran that part of the American political establishment opposes his policy toward the country.
Trump also accused major oil companies of failing to lower gasoline prices at the pump despite what he described as a significant decline in oil prices on the global market.
