Teodora Vojnović (29) from Novi Sad, a trained pharmacist and nutritionist, swaps her white coat for colors and a paintbrush in her free time.
A remarkable turn of events for Teodora, who has loved drawing since childhood—a passion that only grew stronger as she got older. Although she pursued a university degree that had nothing to do with painting, this young woman from Novi Sad says she has always loved to draw, and to this day, her mother still keeps a notebook filled with her childhood sketches.
The moment that, as she likes to say, defined her artistic path was the wedding of her best friend.
“My favorite thing is painting on glass. My best friend was getting married, and his now-wife wanted them to have hand-painted champagne glasses. One evening, they came to me and asked if I could paint them,” Teodora reveals. She says she was initially quite skeptical about painting on glass, but that very moment was decisive—she realized this was what she wanted to do. That’s how her small workshop, ‘Glassartea,’ was born.

Although she receives mostly positive feedback, Teodora admits that the harshest criticism comes from those closest to her. However, she sees this as motivation to improve and make her family proud.
“People are always surprised when I tell them that I didn’t study art at all. I pursued a completely different field, one that has nothing to do with painting. But what I do know is that I’ve loved drawing since I was little—it’s how I express my inner world,” Teodora shares. She also admits that when she first started selling her artwork, it was difficult to part with her pieces, and even after all these years, that struggle remains.

Over the years, Teodora has discovered that modernism as an artistic movement doesn’t necessarily need justification for why something is painted the way it is. Instead, it simply needs to evoke emotions—something she values deeply in the people who own her artwork.
Her greatest support, as she proudly states, comes from her friends and her boyfriend.
