Serbian Greco-Roman wrestling representative Andrej Simić won the bronze medal at the Cadet World Championships in Baku, after reaching the podium in the up to 110-kilogram category following a series of excellent performances.

The talented Crvena zvezda wrestler had an extremely difficult path to the medal. Competing against the best young wrestlers in the world, he recorded four victories in five matches and fully deserved to win the bronze medal.

Simić was also very close to reaching the final, but in the semifinals, with a little bit of sporting luck missing, he fell just one step short of fighting for the gold medal.

The Serbian U17 national team will have a chance to improve its tally at the world championship in Azerbaijan, as three more of our representatives will compete for medals—Luka Zelić in the up to 71-kilogram category, Arijan Ali in the up to 80-kilogram category, and Todor Aksentijević in the up to 92-kilogram category.
