Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said today that on Monday, when former Commander of the Army of Republika Srpska Ratko Mladić, who was convicted in The Hague of genocide and other war crimes, will be buried at Topčider Cemetery, he has a meeting with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, whose visit was scheduled several months ago.

“I have an official visit from the President of Uzbekistan all day Monday and Tuesday, scheduled four months ago,” Vučić told reporters during his visit to Palić, when asked whether he would attend the funeral.

He added that he had spoken with the Mladić family, and that it was their choice what they would do and how they would organize the funeral.

“Whether I have done everything necessary and possible to ensure that this takes place in a dignified manner, in a serious and responsible way, with the state conducting itself appropriately, I have certainly done that. That is all I can tell you,” Vučić said.
