Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said in an address after a meeting with Milorad Dodik in Banja Luka that the verdict against the President of Republika Srpska shows not only an attitude towards Dodik, but that it is primarily directed against Republika Srpska and the Serbian people as a whole. Dodik stated that he will try to understand the messages of the Serbian President and that talks and calls for peace are the only solutions in the current situation.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said in an address after a meeting with Milorad Dodik that today is a difficult day for the Serbian people as a whole.
The verdict shows not only an attitude towards Milorad Dodik, but is primarily directed against Republika Srpska and the Serbian people as a whole, Vučić assessed.
As he said, it is a condemning verdict for something that you cannot even call a verbal offense for something that does not exist in the modern world, for something that we thought would never exist anywhere in the world.
“I came tonight not because I can in any way influence the decisions of the Republika Srpska leadership. I came to provide support to our people in Republika Srpska, to say that to Milorad Dodik, without ever threatening anyone,” said Vučić.
When it comes to the survival of Srpska and when it comes to the progress of Srpska and when it comes to our unity as a people, it is important, he emphasized, that we have unity on key national issues.
Vučić said that he came with only two requests – one addressed to the Serbian people and politicians for unity and the other that President Dodik and the Srpska leadership seek talks with everyone both in Sarajevo and everywhere.
The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, stated that he wants to thank the President of Serbia for his understanding and for coming to Banja Luka.
“We in Srpska are proud that you reacted like no Serbian president before and that despite the problems you have, you came here to Banja Luka. It is very important that we will have a session in the Serbian Assembly and that we will present our view of the Dayton Agreement there. Serbia is a signatory to the General Framework Agreement,” Dodik emphasized.
He stated that in RS they advocate for the preservation of peace.
“We have no war plan, nor do we have any special intentions or resources for such a thing. We are ready to talk, but we are not ready to be ignored. I am ready to talk with members of the Bosniak and Croatian people, but in such a way that we do not lose the rights we have acquired so far. The President of Serbia is right and very clearly emphasized the need for peace and talks,” said the President of RS.
He emphasized that he insists on what belongs to RS, as well as that he insists on the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, that is, the original Dayton Agreement.
