Slaviša Kokeza, former president of the Football Association of Serbia (FSS) and a prominent member of the SNS, hired criminals to threaten and physically attack the celebrated football player Nemanja Vidić, and this is the reaction of the legendary football player to the findings obtained by KRIK.

Nemanja Vidić welcomed KRIK journalists to his house in Senjak. He was anxious to find out the details they came across during their research.

Vidić moved into this villa upon his return to Serbia in 2021. He returned to the country after almost 18 years spent abroad, during which he built a rich football career. He did so, as he said, mostly for the sake of the children, because he did not want them to be foreigners both in Serbia and abroad.

“I had absolutely no dilemma about who Slaviša Kokeza was. I knew that he had certain people, circles, and that he liked to move in the circle of certain people from different spheres of society,” Vidić says, adding that a bigger problem is that a street thug was appointed to this important football position.

“When you appoint a street thug to lead the football association and a street thug who leads FC Crvena Zvezda, you have brought the street into football and there is no longer a constructive conversation, every criticism is considered a personal attack and a threat to the plunder they have usurped,” he said, referring to Kokeza and Zvezdan Terzić.

Vidić believes that they are the consequence, not the cause of the problem. The greatest responsibility lies with the one who appointed them to those positions, he said without specifying exactly who he meant.

“He gave the two of them institutions from which they draw power to solve their personal, and perhaps common problems, using the street thugs they cooperate with. That modus operandi has existed for a number of years. We in Serbian football have seen all kinds of things. It is extremely important which people we appoint now too,” Vidić said.

Students sent a powerful message to Nemanja Vidić

Students in the blockade of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade sent a message of support to the celebrated football player and great man Nemanja Vidić, after KRIK journalists published that the former president of the Football Association of Serbia and prominent member of the SNS, Slaviša Kokeza, hired criminals to threaten Vidić and physically attack him.

“Nemanja, this is not gratitude that fits into a few sentences. You are not just a football legend. You are proof that a man is measured by what he is ready to lose for the good of others, and not by what he is ready to get by keeping quiet for himself. We do not need a better example than this. We stand with you, no ifs or buts,” the students in the blockade of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade wrote in a post on the social network X.

By the way, Vidić has supported the students from the beginning, which he also stated on one occasion for Nova.rs.

“I must say that I definitely support our students and highly educated youth who should lead this society tomorrow. We should base our future precisely on such children. What kind of a father would I be if I didn’t support students,” Vidić seemed to wonder aloud, and the answer is more than clear.
