A U.S. Navy drone rescued two crew members of an American Apache helicopter after it crashed near the coast of Oman while patrolling the waters of the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced today.

In a CENTCOM statement published on the X platform, it was stated that the soldiers were rescued within approximately two hours after the accident and that they are in stable condition.

The rescue efforts were led by the U.S. Central Command Naval Forces and the 82nd Airborne Division, with support from U.S. Air Force and Navy units, including Task Force 59 of the U.S. 5th Fleet.

CENTCOM stated that the cause of the incident is under investigation.
