The Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Čačak has issued a statement regarding a report of peer violence against a 14-year-old boy, filed following an incident that occurred on June 11 at an elementary school in Mrčajevci.

Based on all investigative actions carried out so far, authorities determined that there was no rape or abuse of the minor student by his peers in this particular case.

According to the statement released by the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Čačak, the incident took place during the morning school shift, after which the competent authorities reacted immediately to examine all circumstances surrounding the event, which had previously caused significant public concern.

“By order of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Čačak, a medical examination of the minor M.M., aged 14, was conducted. Officers of the Čačak Police Department collected statements from the school principal, teachers, the school pedagogue, and all students who participated in the incident. Based on all actions undertaken, it was established that there was no rape or abuse of the minor M.M. by other students. Rather, the incident involved inappropriate behavior by a group of boys for the purpose of exhibitionism,” the prosecutor’s office stated.

Officials from the Čačak General Hospital said they were unable to provide additional information due to the ongoing investigation.
