Angelina Topić, a Serbian high jumper and national team representative, has been nominated for the rising star of world athletics.
As stated on the World Athletics website, Topić is among the three candidates for the best young female athlete on the planet.
To make the recognition even greater, she is the only one from Europe among the three selected girls.
Besides her, there are also the Ethiopian Simbo Almajew, the world champion in the 3000-meter steeplechase and fifth-placed at the Olympic Games, and Jan Zizhi, the world champion and record holder in the javelin throw in the under-20 category.

As Angelina Topić’s achievements, it is mentioned that she won the U20 World Championship, as well as reaching the final at the Olympic Games and finishing fifth at the World Championship.
Let us remind you that Topić was named the best young athlete in Europe in 2023.
This is the third major recognition for Serbian athletics, as before her, Adriana Vilagoš received the award for the rising star of European athletics, while Dragutin Topić and Đerđi Vilagoš, coaches of Topić and Vilagoš respectively, were named the best coaches in Europe in the men’s and women’s categories.
