Strahinja Kavaz from Ruma (13) was born as a premature baby in the 32nd week of pregnancy. Due to complications during childbirth, he was deprived of oxygen, which led to severe consequences – he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, quadriplegia, which affects all four limbs and significantly impacts his mobility and daily functioning.
Already on the 20th day of his life, Strahinja survived a serious health crisis – his large intestine ruptured, after which he lived with an ileostomy for the next five years.
During that period, he underwent as many as five difficult bowel surgeries and three episodes of sepsis that threatened his life.
Despite everything, Strahinja never gave up. Even today, he fights every day, but for further progress and a better quality of life, he needs constant medical and therapeutic support.
Strahinja needs funds for stem cell treatment, surgeries at home and abroad, speech therapy and special education treatments, rehabilitation, medications, travel expenses, and accommodation costs.
His parents have borne all the costs themselves until now, but they have exhausted all possibilities. That is why we are appealing to all of you – people of good heart – to help Strahinja together so he can continue his fight and get a chance for a more dignified and happier life.
