SOLIDARITY IN ACTION: Kragujevac assemblies and students rushed to help, donated 200 bottles of water for the endangered citizens of Cacak! (VIDEO)

While the citizens of Cacak face serious problems with water supply, help and support arrive from young people from the neighborhood.

Students of the University of Kragujevac, in cooperation with the organization “United Assemblies of Kragujevac”, donated today 200 bottles of water of 6 liters each for the endangered citizens of Cacak, the local portal epicentarpress.rs reported.

Kragujevac academics, together with colleagues from the Faculty of Technical Sciences (FTN) from Cacak, organized the action and personally distributed the donated water to citizens today on the Town Square in the center of the city.

New breakdown deepened the crisis

As a reminder, the problems with water supply began on Monday, May 25, when at around 06:05 a rupture of the main pipeline on the “Rzav” system occurred at a location in Arilje.

Due to the severity of this breakdown, the supply of Cacak from this system was completely interrupted.

Although the teams of JP “Rzav” immediately went out to the field and started the remediation, and the Cacak “Vodovod” engaged its own sources, those supplies are not enough to cover the needs of all users.

The situation escalated further this morning.

Just as the old pipe was replaced and the water was released, a new breakdown occurred on the pipeline! The teams of JP “Rzav” are on the field again where they are determining the degree of the new damage. According to the authorities, the problem lies in the fact that a part of the pipeline consists of concrete pipes of poor quality, which represent the weakest link of the entire system, epicentarpress.rs writes.

While waiting for permanent remediation and stabilization of the system, the gesture of the members of the United Assemblies of Kragujevac and students of the University of Kragujevac showed that solidarity and care for people are the most important in moments of crisis.
