Serbian national A.S. (22) from Jagodina has been suspected of assaulting a public official and committing domestic violence after allegedly injuring a police officer by biting him on the arm and physically attacking his partner in Kotor, Montenegro, RTCG reported today.
Montenegro’s Police Directorate said the incident was reported early Wednesday morning after citizens alerted the emergency services that a man was behaving violently and aggressively in the Sveta Vrača neighborhood and was preventing employees of a local supermarket from approaching the building.
Upon arriving at the scene, police found A.S., who was allegedly striking parked vehicles and the concrete pavement, injuring himself in the process and damaging one of the vehicles.
While officers were attempting to restrain him, one police officer sustained a bite injury to his arm inflicted by A.S., the police said.
The suspect was transported by ambulance to a medical facility, where he was kept under observation for further evaluation.
His partner, N.P. (21) from Subotica, was also found at the scene with visible bodily injuries.
On the orders of the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Kotor, criminal charges have been filed against A.S. on suspicion of committing the offense of assaulting a public official in the performance of official duties.
