In the wider center of Vranje, in the immediate vicinity of the “Bujkovski most” market, a powerful explosion occurred this morning around 8 AM in which a passenger car was destroyed.
According to unofficial information, the target of the attack was a vehicle used by a well-known MMA fighter from Vranje, M. K.
There are no injuries; police are on the scene. Fortunately, at the moment of the detonation, there was no one in the vehicle, nor in its immediate vicinity, so human casualties were avoided. According to eyewitnesses, the detonation was extremely strong and disturbed the residents of surrounding buildings and vendors at the nearby market.
“A terrible bang was heard, we thought something had exploded at the market. Only later did we see the smoke and the police who had blocked the entire neighborhood,” says one of the passers-by.
Members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs immediately went to the scene and cordoned off the area. A police investigation is currently underway to determine what type of explosive was used, how the device was activated, and what the motive for this attack is.
Traffic in this part of the city is temporarily slowed down, and more details are expected after the official statement from the Police Department in Vranje.
