The Serbian basketball players achieved the most important victory so far in the Eurobasket, defeating Latvia 84:80, and the coach Svetislav Pešić did not hide his satisfaction that the “Eagles” reached an important triumph.
The popular Kari immediately upon arriving at the conference congratulated the players on a great victory, noting that good basketball was seen.
“First, I would like to congratulate the players on a fantastic victory. We expected a tough game and we got it. From the middle of the first quarter, the game was tense and I believe that everything was under our control. Both teams gave their all. Great basketball, high concentration. If you look at the free throw percentages, we had 18 out of 18, while they had 22 out of 23. This is a clear indicator of how focused the players were. This is just one game, and we have more. This is how we should play. The most important thing is to stay healthy and see what happens with Bogdan. With this kind of attitude, defense and concentration, we can control our destiny,” Pešić pointed out.

The coach of Serbia also referred to the injury of captain Bogdan Bogdanović, noting that he is currently not at 100 per cent.
“We will see what happens. I know it’s easy to ask questions, but I’m not a wizard, so I can tell you that Bogdan is currently at 70-80%. He had his injury checked, now he’s resting, we’re waiting for the results and we’ll see what happens next. We can’t say anything until all the tests are done,” Pešić concluded.
