A proxy can represent you in negotiations in your name and for your account within the limits of the powers granted, take actions, and make statements of will that can produce legal effects. In some transactions, it is desirable to have a person who possesses negotiation skills and is well-acquainted with the subject matter and legal regulations help and represent you.

Can a proxy perform all actions related to your real estate, from the beginning to the end of the procedure, without your arrival?

What should a power of attorney contain and what is the form of a power of attorney?

Can a proxy represent me in tax proceedings related to buying and selling and other real estate transfers?
After the transaction is completed, certain tax obligations arise related to a specific real estate. All obligations regarding tax regulations, submission of appropriate tax returns, receipt of decisions, and tax payments can also be carried out without your presence, by hiring a proxy who will do it for you, in your name and for your account.

How can a Serbian citizen most efficiently obtain a power of attorney abroad?
A citizen of the Republic of Serbia has two options available:
Option 1: A Serbian citizen has the possibility to personally visit the nearest diplomatic-consular representation, sign, and certify the Power of Attorney. A power of attorney certified in a diplomatic-consular representation is considered a domestic public document and is not subject to the legalization process.
Option 2: A citizen of the Republic of Serbia and a foreign citizen have the possibility to certify the Power of Attorney before the competent foreign authority of the state in which they reside (Notary Public). Sometimes this option is more practical for parties considering the distance of the consular representations of the RS. A document certified by a foreign authority is a foreign public document, and to have validity and application in the Republic of Serbia, it must be legalized.
