After more than five hours of questioning at the High Public Prosecutor’s Office, the student of the Faculty of Agriculture, Lazar Mišić, was released, with a measure prohibiting him from leaving Belgrade.

Mišić says that the crimes he is charged with are “ridiculous,” because it is clear that the students, through their protests, showed that they advocate for respect for the law.

Mišić’s lawyer, Zdenko Tomanović, says that he is charged with a large number of criminal offenses, but all without serious factual and legal arguments. The lawyer will also appeal the decision to prohibit leaving the place of residence.

Interestingly, a few hours before Mišić’s release, the President of Serbia told reporters that he believes the case will end in a regular procedure, without detention.

As a reminder, the student of the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Belgrade, Lazar Mišić, was taken to the police station yesterday after being detained at “Nikola Tesla” Airport, and he is suspected of violent change of the constitutional order, as stated by the Tomanović law office.

Students and citizens’ assemblies blocked Aviation Square in Zemun, and then they headed on foot toward the Palace of Justice.

The Tomanović law office, which represents the student Mišić, previously stated that student Lazar Mišić was arrested without a valid legal basis.

“Lazar Mišić was deprived of liberty without a valid legal basis, with legally and factually simulated reasons, and therefore must be released immediately after consideration of our appeal,” the law office announced.

Recall that the student of the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Belgrade, Lazar Mišić, was taken to the police station after being detained at Belgrade’s “Nikola Tesla” Airport, as members of his family previously confirmed for N1.

Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) reported that the police arrested Mišić at the airport due to suspicion that he planned a blockade of the highway for a protest that was supposed to take place in March of this year, as well as a blockade of TENT in Obrenovac, in order to prevent the delivery of coal and the supply of electricity to the citizens of Serbia.
