Over the murder of 61-year-old Zoran Grgić, a former member of the Council for Civilian Oversight of Security and Intelligence Services of the Croatian Parliament, which took place last night in Šušnjevci near Slavonski Brod, police have detained a total of three people.
The Brod-Posavina Police Department confirmed that, in addition to the initially arrested 33-year-old, two more suspects, aged 25 and 39, were arrested shortly afterward.
–Around 6 p.m., there was a shooting in which the 61-year-old man was wounded by firearm and died from the sustained injuries. A rapid police intervention followed, during which a 33-year-old man was located, after which two more people were arrested. A criminal investigation is underway to establish important facts and circumstances of this event – the police stated.
Today at noon, in front of the Brod-Posavina Police Department building, a statement regarding the murder will be given by Dražen Puljko, head of the Criminal Police Service.
The County State Attorney’s Office in Slavonski Brod also issued a statement on this crime. Its deputy, in cooperation with the police, carried out the investigation.
“According to the data collected so far, there are reasonable grounds to suspect that on September 23, 2025, around 6 p.m. in the village of Šušnjevci, on the roadway, by shooting with a firearm, the murder of a Croatian citizen (1964) was committed. It is suspected that the perpetrator or perpetrators struck the victim’s vehicle with another vehicle, after which multiple shots were fired at him with a firearm, causing his death at the scene. The perpetrators then fled,” the prosecutor’s office announced.
They added that, in cooperation with the police, they are taking all necessary measures and actions within their jurisdiction to establish all relevant facts and circumstances of the murder.
