The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) announced today that all road blockades across Serbia and in Belgrade have been removed, and all thoroughfares are now open to traffic.

Detainees and Incidents

During the night, MUP officers verified the identities of 1,297 individuals, and 79 people were brought to official premises. Of those, 72 were detained for committing misdemeanors, while seven were brought in due to reasonable suspicion of having violated provisions of the Criminal Code and committed criminal offenses, the MUP stated.

Sporadic incidents were reported in certain locations, with police acting in accordance with the law. These incidents occurred in Belgrade, Niš, Novi Pazar, and Novi Sad, where a number of individuals were detained for disturbing public order and peace and for committing criminal offenses.

The MUP also reported that participants in the blockades injured four police officers and damaged one official MUP vehicle.

MUP Appeals for Law Abidance

The Ministry of Internal Affairs once again appeals to citizens to refrain from any unlawful activities and to avoid blocking traffic, especially in ways that could endanger their safety and the safety of other road users.
