MILICA IS THE HERO OF THE DAY IN THE BALKANS: Meet the beautiful student who fearlessly put out a fire in Montenegro! (VIDEO)

Milica Radović from Bijelo Polje noticed today that a fire was breaking out from an apartment on the second floor of a residential building in the city center. She immediately called the firefighters, but while waiting for them to arrive, she thought that there might be someone inside the apartment who needed help.

She quickly found the entrance to the building behind the “Uskok” café, took a fire extinguisher located on the ground floor and headed toward the apartment. As she says, at that moment she had no idea what she would find behind the door.

“I entered the apartment and couldn’t see anything in front of me. I was checking to see if anyone was there because I was afraid there might be an elderly man inside who had fallen asleep, which ultimately turned out to be the case. However, he was alive and he was fine. He left the apartment with me,” Milica recounted.

To reach the fire extinguisher, she had to break the protective glass. Since she had nothing with her that she could use to break it, she used what was at hand.

“I didn’t have anything to break the glass protecting the fire extinguisher, so I took my phone and used it to break the glass. It was the first time I had ever used a fire extinguisher. I went inside and started putting out the fire. The terrace and part of the apartment were on fire, and I put it out by myself,” she said.

Inside the apartment, she found an elderly man sitting on a chair. She approached him and asked whether everything was all right. He told her he was feeling fine, although he was visibly shaken by the situation.

The Bijelo Polje firefighters soon arrived at the scene, while Milica, a law student, left afterward and continued on her way home, not considering that she had done anything special.

“I don’t consider myself a better person because of this. I simply couldn’t walk past as if nothing had happened. He is someone’s father, brother…” Milica said.
