Nikola Jokić had another night of NBA domination, this time against the Los Angeles Lakers! It’s well-known how much the Lakers feel the sting of their playoff losses to Denver in previous seasons, and Jokić delivered another blow – 127:102.
The best basketball player on the planet, who returned to action yesterday after the birth of his son with a game against Dallas, played another match. And it turned out to be another one for the memory books.
It’s known that LeBron James always has extra motivation against Jokić. He’s been putting up triple-doubles at the start of this season, has a respectable performance considering his age and veteran status, but he couldn’t secure another victory.
Denver lost to Dallas 123:120 last night, but now they triumphed and reminded everyone of Mike Malone’s statement from the season before last when Denver was champions – the team is the “dad” of the Lakers. Nikola Jokić is the best at that role.

After a close first half, Denver took control of the game in the middle of the second quarter. They went on a big run to go up by 13, then a safe 17 at 94:77. In the fourth quarter, Jokić ensured Denver led by 23 at 103:80, making it clear to everyone in the Crypto Arena that the MVP would orchestrate another sad night for the home crowd.
It's silly how easy Nikola Jokic makes this pass look. But look at when he makes it. It's EXACTLY when D'Angelo Russell is leaning away from the baseline. Jokic knew D'Lo would lean that way if he looked at the top of the key and leveraged it.

Mike Malone criticized the players for their performance against Dallas. Everyone expected Jokić to serve them everything and be a superhero as soon as he returned to the team after missing three games, but this time they woke up – especially Porter, Brown, and Murray.
Two of Jokić’s plays stood out – a basket over three defenders, and an attempt to almost box the ball the entire length of the court at the buzzer of the third quarter, which you can see in the video above. Many fans on social media joked that he would definitely make that shot someday in the playoffs. In the end, Jokić had 34 points, 13 rebounds, and eight assists, shooting 12/20 from the field. He was 3/7 from three, made seven of eight free throws, and had a plus-minus of 39.

Porter had 24 points and 11 rebounds, Brown had 16, and Murray had 14 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Westbrook had 14 points, seven rebounds, and 11 assists in 24 minutes on the court. Watson also scored in double figures with 11 points. For the Lakers, Reaves had 19 points, LeBron added 18, and Davis had 14 with 10 rebounds.
