Polling stations in Serbia’s snap parliamentary elections closed at 8 p.m. today, officially ending the regular voting period. However, all citizens who were at a polling station or immediately outside it when it closed are being allowed to exercise their right to vote after 8 p.m.

According to the latest data from the Republic Electoral Commission (REC), estimated voter turnout by 6 p.m. stood at 64.89%. This means that approximately 4,186,242 citizens out of a total of 6,451,292 registered voters had cast their ballots by that time, or nearly 4.2 million people.

Turnout was significantly higher than in the parliamentary elections held on December 17, 2023, when 51.93% of voters had cast their ballots by 6 p.m. The difference amounts to nearly 13 percentage points.

The highest turnout by 6 p.m. was recorded in Vojvodina, where 66.9% of voters had cast their ballots, while turnout in Belgrade stood at 65.67%. In Šumadija, 64.83% of voters had voted, compared with 62.01% in southern and eastern Serbia.
