The girl from Novi Sad, V. P. (28), most likely fell from the second floor of an apartment building at 9 Bulevar Oslobođenja due to a series of unfortunate circumstances.
According to unofficial information, on Wednesday morning, she wanted to throw money through the apartment window to a man who was standing in front of the building in Novi Sad, but the money fell onto the awning below the window. Seeing what had happened, V. P. tried to climb out of the window to reach it but ended up falling from the floor.
— While trying to get to the money, at one point she was holding onto the window ledge, and the man who was in the apartment with her tried to pull her back inside, but he couldn’t. Unfortunately, the girl first fell onto the awning, then onto the sidewalk in front of the entrance, hitting her head on the concrete — explained a source familiar with the investigation.
Neighbors in disbelief
According to neighbors, V. P. was seen that morning around seven o’clock near a nearby kiosk, and no one could have guessed that just two hours later, her life would be in danger.
— It’s terrible what happened, I still can’t believe it or recover from the shock. When I saw blood on the concrete, I felt sick. I heard she was with friends in that apartment, but I can’t say for sure because there was no noise — said a resident of the building located near the Novi Sad Railway Station.
The moment when V. P. was hanging from the second floor holding onto the ledge was witnessed by a passerby — a food delivery man, J. B. (54), who tried to help her and catch her from the sidewalk, but she fell on him.
The emergency medical team from the Novi Sad Institute for Emergency Medicine responded to the call at 9:10 a.m. and transported the girl and the man to the Emergency Center of the Clinical Center of Vojvodina.
— Patient V. P. was admitted with severe bodily injuries, including fractures. After a complete diagnostic examination, she received appropriate medical care and was admitted to the Clinic for Anesthesia, Intensive Therapy, and Pain Management for further surgical treatment, while patient J. B. sustained an open fracture of the right lower leg and was hospitalized at the Clinic for Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology for surgical treatment — said the Public Relations Service of the University Clinical Center of Vojvodina.
