HERO IN A WHITE COAT: Doctor Andrea performed a dramatic intervention last night and saved the life of a one-year-old baby in Belgrade!

The pediatric team of the Belgrade Institute for Urgent Medicine successfully performed a dramatic intervention last night, saving the life of a one-year-old child. Thanks to the quick and expert reaction in the field, the baby in critical condition was stabilized and safely transferred to the hospital.

A real drama unfolded during the past night when an emergency call was sent to the duty service due to the serious condition the child was in. The medical team, led by Dr. Andrea Kecman, arrived at the scene expressly. The doctors concluded that the small patient was suffering from severe neurogenic edema, a serious health condition that directly threatened his vital functions.

Stabilization in the field and transport

Thanks to the application of adequate and timely therapy in field conditions, the medical team managed to stabilize the child’s condition. After the successful initial care, the baby was transported to the hospital accompanied by medical staff for further diagnostics and continuation of treatment.

“The child won its first and most important battle”

Reflecting on this event, Dr. Danijela Jevtić from the Institute for Urgent Medicine emphasized the exceptional importance and success of this intervention by the pediatric team. She emphasized that, despite a very difficult clinical picture, the urgent and skillful reaction of the doctors enabled a small fellow citizen to successfully win his first and at the same time most important life battle.

The Emergency Service added that, except for this extremely stressful and dramatic intervention, the night in the capital passed relatively peacefully, with the number of calls being below the usual seasonal average.
