Among the more than thirty individuals arrested as a result of an FBI investigation into NBA match-fixing is the current coach of the Portland Trail Blazers, Chauncey Billups.
The former 2004 Finals MVP was arrested in the early morning hours as part of an FBI investigation into suspected participation in illegal activities related to sports betting, ESPN reported.
Billups was detained, according to American media, as part of a wider investigation into betting manipulation in the NBA league, in which Miami Heat basketball player Terry Rozier was also arrested.
Investigators believe that certain members of the league were connected to an organized betting network, but it is not yet known whether the charges are directly related to the games Billups participated in as a coach.
