Denver started the game against the guests from Utah like a stampede! In the first 4 minutes, Jokić and company scored 19 points and did not concede a single basket, which hinted that they would have an easy task in the continuation to reach a victory against one of the weaker teams in the West – 135:112!
The Serbian national team player filled all columns tonight, and least of all the scoring one. He shot only 7 times (hitting 5 shots) for 14 points scored, but he thoroughly enjoyed playing his teammates in and collecting balls under the baskets – 13 rebounds and 13 assists! Enough for the 14th triple-double of this season and the 178th in his career.
The Nuggets also broke the record for three-pointers made in this match, hitting as many as 24, and the most impressive in that category was Cam Johnson, who shot a perfect 6 out of 6 from behind the line for a total of 20 points of his own. Murray added 27, and Watson also 20 for a secure victory for the “Nuggets.”
In the visiting team, the best were Markkanen with 27 and George with 20 points scored.
After this match, Denver is tied for second place in the Western Conference with San Antonio with a 21-7 record, while the Jazz occupy the 12th position with a 10-18 performance.
The Nuggets play their next match tomorrow against Dallas away.
