A 15-year-old boy who was beaten last night in the park near the Medical School in Novi Sad was with a group of his peers when, at around 11 p.m., a group of currently unidentified individuals carrying wooden clubs approached them, Dnevnik has unofficially learned.
According to the outlet, when the teenagers saw them, they allegedly started running away, but one of them tripped and fell.
Residents of that part of Novi Sad say the attackers then began beating him.
All the circumstances surrounding the incident will be determined by the investigation, Dnevnik reports.
“The medical team responded with the highest priority”
A medical team responded with the highest priority shortly after 11 p.m. last night, said Dr. Zoran Krulj, spokesperson for the Novi Sad Institute for Emergency Medical Services.
“An unidentified male born in 2011 sustained multiple contusion injuries and lacerations across his body, predominantly to the head. After receiving initial medical treatment, he was transported to the Department of Pediatric Surgery,” Dr. Krulj said.
