Serbian kayakers won one medal at the ICF Junior and U23 Sprint Canoe World Championships in Halifax, Canada.

The junior women’s K4 crew of Žofi Horvat, Andrea Vukašinović, Anja Loknar, and Kaja Sarić won the bronze medal in the K4 500-meter event. The Serbian team crossed the finish line in 1:44.26, behind Hungary (1:41.51) and Germany (1:43.09), securing Serbia’s first medal at this year’s World Championships. With this result, the Serbian juniors repeated last year’s success from the World Championships in Montemor-o-Velho, Portugal, where they also claimed bronze in the same event, confirming the continuity of their top-level performances on the world stage.

Žofi Horvat and Kaja Sarić finished fourth in the A final of the junior women’s K2 500 m event. The Serbian crew completed the race in 1:45.65, missing out on the bronze medal by just 0.08 seconds. With this result, Horvat and Sarić repeated their placing from last year’s World Championships in Portugal, where they also finished fourth in the same event.

The Serbian U23 men’s K4 crew of Veljko Vještica, Ognjen Kramer, Vuk Kramer, and Strahinja Dragosavljević finished fourth in the A final of the K4 500-meter event with a time of 1:28.21.

Strahinja Dragosavljević, the reigning 2025 world champion in the K1 200 m event, finished fifth in the A final. He completed the race in 36.82 seconds, missing the bronze medal by just 0.08 seconds. Although he was unable to defend last year’s title, he once again confirmed that he belongs among the world’s elite in the U23 category.

In the A final of the U23 men’s K2 500 m event, Veljko Vještica and Strahinja Dragosavljević finished sixth with a time of 1:32.26, confirming their place among the best young crews in the world.

The Serbian junior men’s K4 crew of Petar Lakićević, Mateja Molnar, Mihajlo Ćurković, and Marko Cvijanović finished sixth in the A final of the K4 500-meter event.

Sebastian Štaub also competed in the junior men’s K1 200-meter final, where he finished seventh with a time of 39.66 seconds.

In the B finals, Mihajlo Ćurković finished seventh in the junior men’s K1 500 m event, as did Sebastian Štaub and Mateja Molnar, who ended the championships in seventh place in the B final of the K2 500 m event. Žofi Horvat finished second in the B final of the junior women’s K1 500 m event with a time of 2:00.73, earning 11th place overall, while Petar Lakićević finished third in the B final, placing 12th in the world in the junior men’s K1 1000 m event with a time of 3:50.92.
