Just over two weeks after her historic appearance at the Diamond League meeting in Xiamen, Serbian javelin thrower Adriana Vilagoš once again faced off against the Chinese sensation. The top three positions remained unchanged, as Vilagoš secured an impressive third-place finish at the meeting in Oslo.

Vilagoš reached the podium with a throw of 61.33 meters in the fifth round. It was an excellent result, especially considering that the conditions in Norway proved less favorable for the competitors than those in China. Adriana also recorded a throw of 60.11 meters, while her remaining four attempts fell short of the 60-meter mark.

Earlier this year, Vilagoš finished second at the European Throwing Cup and won the meeting in Split, where she set the Serbian national record last season.

The competition in Oslo was once again won by Chinese athlete Ziyi Yan, who produced a winning throw of 67.11 meters. Remarkably, she threw the javelin only one more time during the event, recording 64.81 meters in the second round. Yan recently achieved the second-best result of all time on home soil.

Second place went to Norwegian athlete Sigrid Borge, who threw 61.92 meters, despite all of her other attempts falling below 55 meters.

Fourth place was claimed by Colombia’s Flor Denis Ruiz Hurtado with a throw of 61.11 meters, while all of the remaining competitors finished below the 60-meter mark.
