On Saturday, June 7, a large gathering with the diaspora called “Without you there is no us” will be held in Frankfurt, a musical and stage event organized by ProGlas, the Assembly in Diaspora and the local city initiative Frankfurt for Students, with the aim of re-establishing a direct, open, and live relationship between people in the diaspora and social processes in Serbia.
This gathering comes at a time when space for dialogue is not taken for granted, and connecting often encounters obstacles, logistical – but also those that are harder to name. That is precisely why “Without you there is no us” is not just an event, but a clear stance that the conversation will not be postponed, silenced, or skipped.
Dragan Bjelogrlić, Zoran Kesić, Tamara Dragičević, Miodrag Jovanović, and Katarina Petrović will appear on stage, while the special guest of the evening will be Magnifico, whose performance brings energy that erases boundaries.
The program is not conceived as a classic panel discussion, but as an open meeting of people, ideas, and experiences. An evening of conversation, music, emotions, and connection. The goal is not only to talk about the diaspora, but for the diaspora to be heard.
The event, as well as the campaign itself, is of a non-profit nature and all participants are engaged without fees, while the collected funds are used exclusively for the realization of the event and the development of an initiative aimed at long-term connection of people from the diaspora through a joint network and future activities.
The organizers point out that the realization of the event took place in circumstances that were not always favorable to such gatherings. Nevertheless, the interest of the audience shows that the need for meeting, exchange, and connection surpasses any kind of deadlock.
Frankfurt is the first stop. After it follow Munich and Stuttgart, where the event will be realized with the support of local initiatives, including the Support Protest Stuttgart, which have already gathered the diaspora through civic and protest activities.
Because without you there is no us.
