The Academic Crisis Center (AKC) called on professors, students, high school seniors, and other members of the academic community in Serbia to contact them if they experience repression, police brutality, or arrest, adding that they will be available by phone 24 hours a day.

In a statement signed by the informal group “Rebel University,” it is stated that the AKC is a support network created in response to “continuous police repression and brutality, which culminated after the Vidovdan protest in Belgrade in 2025.”

“AKC operates as a call center and brings together a network of lawyers who provide free legal representation to students, teachers, and employees at universities and other educational institutions… If you notice that a student, professor, or education employee has been detained, arrested, attacked, or subjected to pressure or intimidation, call us. Every report is important,” the statement says.

The phone numbers that AKC has provided for Belgrade are: 011/7773967, 061/4050537, or 061/3348235.

For the area of Novi Sad and Vojvodina, the number is 061/1585232, for Kragujevac, Kruševac, or Kraljevo 061/5980589, and for Niš and southern Serbia 063/1045833.
