JOVANA ARSIĆ WON SILVER IN TARANTO: Serbian representative shines in the single sculls at the Mediterranean Games and takes a medal!

Serbian rowing representative Jovana Arsić won a [silver medal] in the women’s [single sculls] event at the [Mediterranean] Games in Taranto.

Arsić finished second in the final with a time of 8:03.87 minutes, trailing the winner, Greece’s Evangelia Anastasiadou, by 11.57 seconds.

Anastasiadou claimed the gold with a time of 7:52.30, while the bronze medal went to Slovenia’s Nina Kostanjsek, who crossed the finish line in 8:07.42.

Representatives of Italy, Croatia and Spain finished behind them.

The program in Taranto is not yet over for the Serbian team.

Martin Mačković and Nikolaj Pimenov, who won the silver medal in the double sculls at the World Championships in Amsterdam just a few days ago, successfully opened their campaign at the Mediterranean Games and secured a place in the final.

The Serbian double sculls crew finished first in their qualifying heat with a time of 6:19.52, ahead of Italy and Greece, earning direct qualification for the final.

The final is scheduled for tomorrow at 9:25, with Mačković and Pimenov set to compete for medals against crews from Greece, Italy, Slovenia, Turkey and France.
