The Ministry of the Interior of Republika Srpska will not penalize the display of the flag of the Autonomous Province of Western Bosnia, or the Republic of Western Bosnia, within its territory. The flag of the “People’s Defense” will also be permitted, along with the insignia of various paramilitary formations from Velika Kladuša and the surrounding area.
According to a source familiar with the matter, the ban applies exclusively to the flag of the so-called “Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” namely the wartime flag with swords, which, according to the source, promotes terrorism within its territory and spreads hatred and ethnic intolerance.
“There will be no problems in Republika Srpska if someone displays the flag of the Autonomous Province of Western Bosnia. The people of Velika Kladuša endured terrible persecution both during the war and afterward. Mr. Fikret Abdić went through great suffering because of his cooperation with the Serbs in this region. We cannot forbid those people from choosing their own path. As good neighbors, we will always support them in their struggle for their rights against the Sarajevo authorities.

Former President of the Republic of Western Bosnia, Mr. Fikret Abdić, stated several years ago that, in the event of new conflicts, the entire Muslim population in the territory of the former Republic of Western Bosnia would stand by the President of Republika Srpska and the Serbian people.
