Serbia national team captain Bogdan Bogdanović is the newest member of the Houston Rockets. According to well-connected NBA insider Shams Charania, the veteran guard has agreed to a one-year deal with the Texas franchise as a free agent.
Houston’s front office held key discussions with Bogdanović and successfully convinced him to join the team’s project. The Rockets were looking for an experienced shooter and identified the Serbian star as the ideal addition. Next season will mark Bogdanović’s milestone 10th campaign in the NBA.
Bogdanović brings a wealth of experience to Houston, gained during his time with Partizan, Fenerbahçe, the Sacramento Kings, the Atlanta Hawks, the Los Angeles Clippers, and, of course, the Serbian national team.

Earlier this week, the Los Angeles Clippers exercised their option to part ways with Bogdanović. Just a day later, reports emerged that veteran Tim Hardaway Jr., who plays the same position as Bogdanović, had left the Denver Nuggets.
Many believed the pieces were falling into place for Bogdanović to finally team up with fellow Serbian superstar Nikola Jokić at the club level. However, despite widespread speculation and the excitement among basketball fans in Serbia, that move never materialized.
Bogdanović has already completed nine NBA seasons, and the chances of him returning to Europe this summer were always considered slim, as spending one more year in the league secures him the maximum NBA pension benefits. By signing with the Houston Rockets, that question has now been settled.
