At a construction site in Kneza Milosa Street, a conflict occurred between citizens and the investor’s private security, who wanted to continue construction work on a building which, according to the plan, would practically wall up the windows of neighboring apartments.
Following last year’s protests by citizens living in that part of the city, the inspection closed the construction work on the facility at Kneza Milosa 42. Judging by the allegations of tenants in surrounding buildings, nothing has changed in the meantime.

However, workers appeared today at the unsecured construction site, accompanied by representatives of the security of the investor Sapa Tasevski, who wore masks, caps, and hoods.
Due to the continuation of work, a conflict broke out between the security and the citizens, while the police stood aside and watched.

Gradilište u Kneza Miloša 42 prošle godine je zatvorila inspekcija i zabranila bilo kakve radove i uvoženje mašina. Iako zauzeće trotoara traje još samo dva dana, investitor je danas počeo… pic.twitter.com/LtOYZhgGnv
“Thugs and workers appeared at the unsecured construction site at Kneza Milosa 42 where an arrogant investor plans to build a six-story building, because of which neighbors from Kneza Milosa 44 and Vojvode Milenka are threatened with the danger of their terraces and windows being walled up like in Block 4 in New Belgrade and the foundations of their building being undermined like in Vidovdanska in Vracar. The construction inspection closed the site last year, and the urban planning inspection determined that the urban project on the basis of which the disputed location conditions and building permit were issued has serious defects,” stated Sanja Solarevic, an independent councilor in the Assembly of the Savski Venac municipality.

Otherwise, the building permit and the report of works for the construction of the facility on that plot were signed by Darko Glisic, who, after the resignation of Goran Vesic, was also in charge of the construction department.
According to available documentation, the construction of a “double-sided walled-in residential and business facility” was planned at that location, which will have a maximum of seven floors, specifically six floors and one recessed floor. As stated in the confirmation of the work report, the gross area is 3,136 square meters, and the net area is 2,578 square meters.

The building is supposed to have nine residential units, four business spaces, and 23 parking spots in underground levels. And why is this disputed?
The estimated value of the works amounts to 256,382,475 million dinars or about 2.1 million euros.
