American President Donald Trump stated that the time has come for Americans to be rid of the Jeffrey Epstein files and refused to answer questions about the complaints of the surviving victims of the convicted sex offender. Trump also expressed regret that the former American president and secretary of state, Bill and Hillary Clinton, decided to cooperate in the US Congress investigation regarding this case.
Donald Trump, speaking about the documents relating to Jeffrey Epstein, said that it is time for America to devote itself to other topics, because, as he said, nothing new has “come to light” about him.
Trump, however, refused to answer a question from a CNN journalist about the concerns of Epstein’s surviving victims regarding the published files.
He also rejected allegations that the names of his allies, such as billionaire Elon Musk and Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, appeared in the documents published by the United States Department of Justice.
“I’m sure they did well. Otherwise, those would be the main headlines in the media,” Trump said.
The US President also expressed regret that Bill and Hillary Clinton decided to cooperate in the US Congress investigation regarding the case of the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
“I shouldn’t feel this way, but I’m sorry they have to go through that. Still, they did much worse than me. They even wanted to throw me in jail,” Trump stated.
This is the first time that Trump has spoken praisefully of the Clintons, CNN reports. “I think it’s a shame. I always liked him, and she is a very capable woman. She was better in debates than some others. She was smarter,” Trump added.
Former American President Bill Clinton and his wife, former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, agreed to testify as part of the congressional investigation into the Jeffrey Epstein case.
In the early 2000s, after leaving office, Bill Clinton traveled on Epstein’s plane multiple times, but later expressed regret over that relationship and stated that he did not know about Epstein’s criminal activity.
The US Department of Justice recently released three million pages of documents, 180,000 photographs, and 2,000 videos, as well as lists of names related to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Numerous famous figures who had contact with Epstein are mentioned in the documents. Among them, besides the Clintons, are Donald Trump, Elon Musk, Bill Gates, former British Prince Andrew, Norwegian Princess Mette-Marit, as well as Milo Djukanovic.
