Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, appearing as a guest on a pro-regime television station, reacted to yesterday’s protest by students in blockade titled “What Does Victory Mean” in Novi Sad.
Vučić says that the students’ proposal to carry out lustration after a victory is undemocratic, reports Danas.
According to him, the law on lustration is the most undemocratic one.
“Instead of proposing the building of the state and institutions, healthcare… Of everything they could have proposed, they proposed the persecution of political opponents and bans. That is disappointing to me,” he stated during his appearance on Informer Television.
However, Vučić said that he accepts the students’ proposal regarding the law on the origin of property.
He said that the Tax Administration has not worked enough, even though the Law on the Origin of Property is already in force.
“I accept the idea and have an additional proposal. I believe the blockaders will support the proposal of our people’s list. That all 250 candidates, both from our list and from their blockaders’ list, be placed under ‘investigation’ by the Tax Administration, and then we will see who is a thief,” Vučić said.
According to him, the Anti-Corruption Agency also needs to work more and better.
According to Vučić’s estimate, there were around 3,500 people at last night’s gathering, writes Danas.
