The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, commented on the case of Vujadin Savić and the person suspected of blackmail, A. K. (21), after the trans person’s statement ended up on social media.
-Just as I regret that the police abused their authority and gave recordings around the city concerning the Savić family, and thereby tried to destroy one family along with the media. That is the problem; he contacted the police for the state to protect him, not to destroy his life – said Aleksandar Vučić.
The Special Department for Suppression of Corruption of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade has, ex officio, formed a case to establish the possible commission of any criminal offense for which prosecution is undertaken ex officio, with the aim of establishing all the circumstances under which the photograph of the monitor, which displayed the record of the interrogation of the suspect in the case of the injured party V.S., reached the public and was subsequently shared on social media, as well as the circumstances under which the information that the injured party reported the commission of a criminal offense was published.
As a reminder, the trans person A.K. is allegedly suspected of blackmailing the former football player V. S., from whom she demanded money not to publish compromising photographs and video recordings.
A. K. has been detained for 30 days, was arrested on September 25, and the case is being handled by the Third Public Prosecutor’s Office.
