According to Israeli media reports, Hamas, as announced, has begun to release the remaining hostages, so seven were handed over to the Red Cross in Gaza. Among them is Serbian citizen Alon Ohel.

Among those released are, according to those reports, Gali and Ziv Berman, Matan Angrest, Alon Ohel, Omri Miran, Eitan Mor, and Guy Gilboa-Dalal, RTS reports.

The Saudi channel Al Hadath also reports that the Red Cross received seven live hostages in Gaza City, after the Qatari channel Al-Arabi reported that they were handed over by the military wing of Hamas.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have not given an official comment so far.

The Palestinian militant group Hamas began handing over hostages to the Red Cross starting at seven o’clock (eight local time), in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.

Israel expects the return of the remaining hostages, first the 20 survivors, and then the handover of 28 more – 26 deceased and two whose fate is still unknown.

On the other hand, the Israeli Ministry of Justice published the names of 250 Palestinian prisoners who will be released as part of the exchange. Prominent figures, such as high-ranking Hamas commanders, as well as Marwan Barghouti and Ahmed Saadat – which were Hamas’s demands – are not on the list.

The Office for Information on Palestinian Prisoners stated that negotiations on the final list are still ongoing.

1,700 residents of Gaza who were arrested since October 7, 2023, will also be released.
