The Serbian national basketball team dominated the Czech Republic with a score of 113:84 in a warm-up tournament in Germany.
Serbia has already had several tests, having beaten Bosnia and Herzegovina and Poland behind closed doors, and then defeating Greece and Cyprus in a televised broadcast. The Czech Republic has not won a game since November of last year, having accumulated six consecutive losses.
The “Eagles” were confident from start to finish, leading for all 40 minutes. They were especially effective in offense, with every player except Balša Koprivica scoring.
After just a few minutes of play, the favorites were up 14:3, but the Czech Republic managed to close the gap to -8 by the end of the first quarter. Serbia did not allow their opponent to get into a rhythm in the second period, keeping the lead in double digits. The offense was mostly clicking, and the “Eagles” scored a remarkable 61 points in 20 minutes of play, but they also gave up 48, which head coach Svetislav Pešić was not satisfied with.

The third quarter was Serbia’s best of the match, as Nikola Jokić “hit the gas,” and Bogdan Bogdanović was already in a very good rhythm, which was reflected in the score. The lead grew to +26 on several occasions, and any doubt about the winner was removed.
The final quarter was more of a formality. Bogdanović and Jokić were able to rest, as was Filip Petrušev, who had been dealing with an ankle issue. In their place, Ognjen Dobrić, Marko Gudurić, and Nikola Milutinov were excellent, putting the “icing on the cake.”
The best player for Serbia was Bogdanović with 20 points, while Jokić had 12 points, four rebounds, and six assists. Nikola Jović and Milutinov were also excellent with 10 points each. For the Czechs, Križ scored 12 points, while Peterka, Hanzlik, and Zidek each had 11, and Hruban had 10.
Serbia will play in the final of the tournament in Germany against the host nation, which defeated Turkey in the other semifinal with a score of 73:71 after a dramatic finish.
