The management of the Toronto Raptors is extremely satisfied with the work of Serbian expert Darko Rajaković, and according to the latest information, the franchise plans to extend its cooperation with the 47-year-old from Čačak.
The Canadian portal “sportsnet.ca,” citing well-informed sources, states that there are long-term plans in Toronto for Rajaković following a season in which the team was on the verge of qualifying for the second round of the playoffs. It is expected that, alongside the head coach, general manager Bobby Webster will also receive a new contract.
“You can’t keep the heads of the head coach and the general manager in a bag in the last year of their contracts, especially not after a season in which playoffs were played,” points out one of the sources close to the club.
Although the details and terms of the new contract have not yet been specified, it is certain that the fate of the Serbian coach will become completely clear as soon as Webster officializes his extension of cooperation, since he is the key figure in making decisions regarding the coaching staff.
In the recently completed regular season, Rajaković led the Canadians to a respectable 46 wins.
His current contract is valid until the summer of 2027, but the club leaders want to ensure stability and continue the started process of building a winning team through a timely extension.
