A fight broke out in Novi Sad where a group of most likely SNS activists were drawing tricolors on buildings.
After several men tried to spill their paint, a fight broke out, and in the end, the police detained those who caused the conflict.
While they were drawing in Narodnog fronta, two people ran up and knocked over the paint, spilling it on several of the young men who were painting.
After that, there was shoving and fighting, and one person was detained.
Large groups of supporters of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) headed to Liman in Novi Sad this morning, where citizens had drawn murals on Saturday evening in places where hate graffiti had previously been written, Autonomija.info reports.
This is a reaction to yesterday’s action organized by the residents of Liman 4. They painted over the graffiti, as well as parts of the facades on which tricolors were drawn overnight four years ago.
They said that they were returning the old shine to the facades of Liman, and that the flag of Serbia belongs where it is appropriate.
Otherwise, the “Bravo” Civic Movement also reacted to this morning’s gathering, demanding that the Novi Sad police immediately go to the field in Liman and remove the groups of citizens dressed in black, who have been gathering at several locations in the neighborhood since the early morning hours.
“Residents of Liman reported that this morning they noticed several dozen younger men, as well as a few women, gathering in an organized manner, standing in formation, and waiting for orders near the Liberty Bridge and Štrand. According to their suspicions, these are supporters of the Serbian Progressive Party who are, in all likelihood, ready to cause incidents, including the destruction of property and other forms of intimidating citizens,” Bravo stated.
