Talks between Prime Minister Đuro Macut, Minister of Education Dejan Vuk Stanković, and Rector Vladan Đokić will continue tomorrow at the Government of Serbia building. According to the official statement, the discussions are proceeding in a “constructive atmosphere, with the goal of complete normalization of the work of the University of Belgrade.”
The public was surprised by the news of a meeting between government representatives and the rector of the University of Belgrade, which was reported by the Government of Serbia’s Media Office. Following the initial statement, a second one was issued.
It stated that the meeting took place at the invitation of the new prime minister, and that the conversation was held in an “open and constructive atmosphere.” In addition to Macut, Đokić, and Stanković, Minister of Science, Technological Development and Innovation Bela Balint also participated.
“At the meeting, it was concluded that the talks will continue in a constructive atmosphere, with the goal of complete normalization of the work of the University of Belgrade. Representing the Rectorate of the University of Belgrade, along with Rector Prof. Dr. Đokić, the meeting was attended by Vice Dean for Finance Prof. Dr. Zorica Vujić and Vice Rector for Education Prof. Dr. Dejan Popović.
