Goran Bubić, the lawyer of the President of Republika Srpska (RS) Milorad Dodik, confirmed that the first-instance verdict of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) has been delivered, by which Dodik was sentenced to one year in prison and six years of prohibition from performing the duties of the president for not implementing the decisions of the High Representative in BiH.

Bubić told Radio-Television RS (RTRS) that he will appeal the verdict, but that the decision to appeal has nothing to do with Dodik.

“The appeal has nothing to do with the president. He said he is no longer interested in it, but he did not revoke the power of attorney,” said Dodik’s lawyer.
