Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić announced today that he will soon “invite all of Serbia to Belgrade” to show, as he put it, that Serbia “is not a handful of oats.”

“We will soon invite all of you to Belgrade. We will invite everyone to Belgrade, all of Serbia, to show that Serbia is not a handful of oats that they can easily peck away,” said Vučić at a rally in the Boban Momčilović Veličković Sports Center in Bor, ending his speech with the words, “We’ll see you soon.”

He stated that if anyone in Serbia wants a referendum on his resignation, they can always have it.

“You want elections? You’ll get them, and we’ll beat you even more convincingly. Anything is possible, but it must be democratic. And the idea of coming to power through the street, that film you will never watch again,” Vučić said.

Students who have been blocking their faculties since the end of November last year, after protests in Novi Sad, Niš, and Kragujevac, announced another protest for March 15 in Belgrade.

“PROTESTS ARE THE REBELLION OF THE RICH AND PRIVILEGED”

Speaking about the protests in Serbia, Vučić called them “a rebellion of the privileged and the rich.”

“You always wonder what exactly their reason is, but it’s logical — they think they are above us, they think they deserve much more than the ordinary people,” Vučić assessed.

According to him, “they can’t stand seeing people eat sandwiches, because they eat piglets.”

“They call us sandwich-eaters, I’m on the road every day eating sandwiches, what should I do, and whenever they organize protest tourism in any part of Serbia, there are no sandwiches, only piglets and goulash. Nothing less than that. Well, they are rich, they have it, they can do it,” said Vučić.

11,000 MORE VEHICLES ARRIVED

Regarding yesterday’s student protest in Niš, he said that around 11,000 more vehicles entered the city via the highway from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. compared to the same period last week.

“Thank you for that, the people of Niš earned it yesterday, the Niš cafes. Everything went peacefully, congratulations to you for that,” Vučić said.

The president again spoke about the so-called colored revolution, stating that Serbia has been attacked from the outside, comparing it to a protest by workers of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in Washington, who painted their hands red.

“Exactly the same as here… What do you think, was it organized from Washington, or here from Bor or Belgrade? I think everyone understands everything,” he assessed.

Vučić also asked, “Does anyone remember what the student demands were?” noting that no one is willing to discuss them with the government, even though professors “received more money than ever, but still can’t say they are happy and satisfied.”

“They’re not interested in the demands, they want a colored revolution. They shouldn’t have lied — tell the people that you want Vučić’s head, don’t lie to people that it’s about rights and justice, because commemorative gatherings aren’t made with goulash and piglets. Don’t lie to us that you have nothing to do with the opposition, because they were all in Niš yesterday,” Vučić said.

“RTS IS NOT A PUBLIC SERVICE”

According to him, state institutions that are paid the most — from professors to people at Radio-Television Serbia (RTS) — are “harnessed” in this.

“RTS is not a public service, it has become the public service of the plenums and opposition parties, and whatever they do, it won’t help them… Imagine, yesterday they were reporting from Niš, and some idiot from the Niš office says there was silence. In normal Serbian, that means they were quiet for a while, but that silence didn’t help them because the sound of that goulash was heard,” said Vučić.

“COUNTER-REVOLUTION COMING”

He also stated that after a “failed colored revolution,” there always follows a “successful counter-revolution,” noting that it is important to separate students and pupils from those who would misuse them “to return to power and destroy the protest they organized three months ago.”

Vučić mentioned that he came to Bor to seek support for Serbia to continue developing, pursue a sovereign policy, and conduct its foreign policy, adding that they “called him crazy” when he was the only president in Europe three years ago who did not want to impose sanctions on Russia.

“Today, it seems I wasn’t such a fool, it just took enduring three years of external pressure and three years of internal pressure,” Vučić assessed.
