The Serbian member and Chairwoman of the BiH Presidency, Željka Cvijanović, said that as the Serbian member of the collective body responsible for foreign policy matters, she gives full and unquestionable support to a Resolution proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump at the UN, aimed at ending the conflict in Ukraine and establishing peace in Europe.
“I expect the other two members of the Presidency to also support this proposal, and I warn Ambassador /Zlatko/ Lagumdžija not to act independently, or without the stance of the Presidency, as he has done many times before,” Cvijanović emphasized.
She emphasized that on behalf of Republika Srpska, which she represents in the BiH Presidency, she wants to express unequivocal support for the peace efforts of the Trump administration globally, as well as for the high-level negotiations between the U.S. and Russia.
“This support reflects the clear position of the institutions of Republika Srpska, led by President Milorad Dodik, which is therefore binding for me as a member of the BiH Presidency elected from its territory,” Cvijanović said.
The United States will present a Resolution to the UN General Assembly on February 24 regarding the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that President Donald Trump is committed to ending the conflict in Ukraine.
The Resolution is in line with Trump’s position that the UN should return to its core purpose outlined in the Charter – maintaining international peace and security, including the peaceful settlement of disputes, says a press release from the U.S. State Department.
