Late last night in Belgrade, a scuffle and fight broke out when Dragan Đilas, president of the Freedom and Justice Party, and two of his associates clashed with a group of young men who were putting up posters that said “Đilas is a thief”.
Đilas and his associates, a young man and a young woman, demanded that the group of young men say who sent them to put up the posters, while the young men replied that “Đilas is a thief”.
The heated situation escalated from shouting to pushing and shoving between parked cars, eventually erupting into a fight in which a young man in a short-sleeved gray shirt who was in Đilas’s company got the worst of it. As seen in a video posted on social media, this young man was hit several times with hands and feet during the brief fight. It was later revealed that his name is Đorđe Aleksić.

The Freedom and Justice Party posted two more short videos on social media last night. The first shows an ambulance crew and a police patrol arriving at the scene of the fight. The second shows Đilas and the aforementioned young man in a gray shirt in the emergency room. It can be concluded that they had come for a medical examination, which is standard procedure in such situations.
Both appear to be in good general condition in the video.
In a statement to N1 last night, Đilas accused Luka Petrović, the city secretary for investments and a member of the SNS Presidency, of leading the group of young men who were putting up the posters.
“They hit me several times. We defended ourselves as best we could, in the end they knocked me down. Đorđe tried to protect me, they hit him more than me. As far as I hear, Luka Petrović also came to report something to the emergency room,” Đilas said last night.
N1 writes that Aleksić has several hematomas on his back and the back of his head, and that Đilas injured his ankle.
