The Zagreb County Court has ruled that Croatia must return the S-300 anti-missile system to entrepreneur Zvonko Zubak or pay 200 million US dollars with interest from 1997, N1 Zagreb has learned.

According to N1 Zagreb, the weapon was purchased in 1994 on the black market when Croatia was under a UN arms embargo.

They add that for a long time it has not been known for sure where this system is located, so it is difficult to enforce the part of the non-final judgment about returning the weapon or its parts, which were shown at a military parade in 1995.

The trial lasted 22 years and overturned a non-final judgment of the Zagreb Municipal Civil Court, which had completely rejected Zubak’s lawsuit.
