The presiding officer, Dina Vučinić, stated that Mayor Milan Đurić remains in this position. 25 councilors voted for the dismissal of Milan Đurić, while 48 councilors voted against. The session ended, and applause erupted from the councilors in the assembly hall.
Mayor Milan Đurić addressed the councilors before the vote.
“We are close to the beginning of the vote of confidence in the mayor, deputy mayor, and City Council. You asked for an extraordinary session, you got it. You didn’t prepare much, even the proposer has a little less than four minutes on your proposal, but okay. I think we prepared ourselves perfectly, and you didn’t expect that,” he said and then added:
“Your sole intention is to forcibly enter and then forcibly and coercively seize power. You are only interested in coming to power in this way, not through elections.”
