A heroic gesture by handball players from Vinkovci worthy of admiration. They failed to make it to their match against Karlovac, and the reason is that they were helping an injured truck driver after a traffic accident.
Namely, the Bjelina handball players were trying in every way to pull the driver out of the cab, and in the process, they themselves were injured, reports Večernji list.
“Halfway to Karlovac, a truck overturned right in front of us. Immediately after the accident, our guys rushed to help the injured driver and with their hands and feet managed to break the glass and pull him out of the truck, during which they themselves got injured on their hands from glass shards. In addition, we provided first aid to the driver, but due to the long wait, we were unable to arrive on time”, the Bjelina Spačva club wrote, causing a large number of reactions from the entire region.
The postponed match between Bjelina and Karlovac will be played at a later date.
